Come to this one-hour interactive workshop, taught by Katie Lund, of BodyFix. She is a Physical Therapist, a Trained Instructor for The Foot Collective, Gait Happens Gait Guru, and Member of the Healthy Feet Alliance. You will learn the importance of foot restoration and footwear. Katie will dispel common myths surrounding supportive and restrictive shoes, orthotics, and injections vs minimal footwear. You'll learn easy exercises and mobility drills that will begin the foot restoration process, to regain strength. You will complete a balance assessment to determine current baseline and goals. There will be 30 minutes post workshop to discuss footwear recommendations and individual questions.

Gear Needed: Swimsuit, goggles, swim cap, towel, adequate pool shoes, and a change of clothes (loose and comfortable clothing is good). Showers will be available.
Course Outline: Learn good balance, streamlining, pacing and sighting skills. Learn to move through the water with less drag and more efficiency. The course will also teach the student how to swim using their whole body instead of just the arms and shoulders. Other important skills will be covered like breathing, recovery arm and the 2 beat kick. We will also be learning dryland movements and exercises. Most importantly we will have fun!!
